Approve RSVPs one at a time. When you are ready, hand one category, such as meeting confirmations, fully over.

Can it book or move a meeting, or does it only remind me?
It drafts the RSVP, update or reschedule and waits for your one-tap approval. Nothing on your calendar changes until you say so, unless you have promoted that category.
Will it double-book me?
No. It checks free/busy across your connected calendars first. A real clash is the one thing it always flags to you.
Does it work with my personal and work calendars at once?
Yes. It keeps them in separate silos, so a personal event never informs a work draft.
Does this need Outlook Calendar too?
No. Google Calendar runs on its own. Outlook Calendar is rolling out separately, as Outlook clears its own safety gate.
